Roger Daltry The Headline Act As Rolls-Royce Unveils First Music Legends Model

As reported by TMR late last year, Rolls-Royce is partnering with some British music legends in a series of one-off Wraith models which will be auctioned for charity (including Britain’s Teenage Cancer Trust and the Fly Navy heritage Trust).

The first four examples have now been revealed and star billing goes to two cars credited to The Who front man Roger Daltry. Rolls-Royce Wraiths created by Sir Ray Davies (The Kinks) and producer/songwriter Giles Martin were also unveiled at the Sanderson Hotel in Fitzroia, London.

Each of the nine Wraiths will have a subtle Union Jack motif on the C-pillars and the artist’s name engraved under the ‘Spirit Of Ectasy’ on the bonnet as well as the door sill plates.

“The enduring allure of Rolls-Royce has been encouraged over the years by some of the world’s most famous and important music stars,” revealed CEO Torsten Muller-Otvos.

“This collaboration – with some of Britain’s most celebrated musicians – promises to add to this legacy, creating truly unique collector’s items which also support worth charities.”

Former Jaguar stylist Giles Taylor is now Design Director at Rolls-Royce and leads the design effort with the company’s Bespoke Designer Matthew Danton.

Next collaborations are from Dame Shirley Bassey, Francis Ross OBE (of Status Quo) and Ronnie Wood (The Rolling Stones).
