Maserati Announces Commemorative GranTurismo And GranCabrio Special Edition Models

Although able to trace its origins as a company back to 1914, Maserati is commemorating 60 years since its first road car, the 3500 GT, was released by announcing a limited run of special edition GranTurismo and GranCabrio models.

To mark the occasion Maserati is producing just 400 examples of the special edition cars available in a new hero colour to mimic Juan Manuel Fangio’s iconic Grand Prix-winning Maserati 250F of the 1950s.

Both special editions feature new 20-inch gloss black alloy wheels with special centre caps, while on the inside, the limited run models score either Poltrona Frau leather or leather and Alcantara upholstery with the choice of four contrast stitches.

Maserati has also added carbon fibre door sills with special edition logos and a plate commemorating the anniversary on the centre console.

Both models remain powered by the Italian brand’s 4.7-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine that produces 338kW and 520Nm, allowing the Gran Turismo to dash from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds with a six-speed automatic, or 4.7 seconds for the available manual, while the automatic-only Gran Cabrio takes 5.0 seconds.

Pricing for the editions start at $309,990 before on-road costs for the GranTurismo, while the GranCabrio kicks off at $349,990.
